Sauer Model 1919 (late model)

History:

This last type of the model 1919 was produced since approx. number 45.000. Like the bigger model 1913 the safety-lever was provided with a hook at the top in order to lock the slide. The slide-lock at the trigger was cancelled. Besides this the construction was absolute identical to the one of the preceeding model.
Reason for this change was the easier and cheaper production of the pistol. At the end of the 1930ties the model 1919 costed 22,50 "Reichsmark", the bigger model 1913 costed 35,- "Reichsmark".
This last type of the model 1919 was produced since approx. number 45.000. The production stopped at approx. number 65.000, as it was no longer possible to sell it against the own following models of 1924 and 1928 as well as against the concurrent products..
