Manufacture Liegeoise dŽArmes a Feu ROBAR et Cie, Liege

The company was founded at the turn of the century as "Robar et deKerkhove" in Liege/Belgium.
They started with the production of cheap pocket-revolvers, and around 1908 they began to produce automatic pistols.
The production was stopped during the war 1914-1918, but in 1920 it was started again, and the name of the company was changed to "Manufacture Liegeoise dŽArmes a Feu Robar et Cie".
After a second break by World War II they started again with the new company name "Societe Anonyme Robar et Cie, Liege" and continued up to the early 1950ies.
Under this name the company went in liquidation in 1958/59 , where the production of handguns ended already some years before.
For some time the company was also a part of the ammunition- imperium Cockerill, but there is little known about these connections.
The pistols were of high quality, have been widely exported and you can find them quite often.
